Sutter Delta Medical Center (SDMC) earned recognition today from the U.S. News & World Report as a “high performer” in the care of Heart Failure and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

“This recognition reinforces our reputation for providing outstanding, quality care each day across the wide range of services offered to patients by our exceptional teams of physicians, nurses and clinical staff” said Dori Stevens, SDMC CEO.

A total of ten Sutter Health hospitals received recognition. The others are Alta Bates Summit Medical Center (Berkeley and Oakland campuses), Eden Medical Center, California Pacific Medical Center, Mills-Peninsula Medical Center, Sutter Medical Center Sacramento, Memorial Medical Center Modesto, Sutter Roseville Medical Center and Novato Community Hospital. The U.S. News & World Report survey ranked hospitals according to risk-adjusted survival and readmission rates, volume, patient experience, patient safety, quality of nursing care and other care-related indicators.

“For nearly three decades, we’ve strived to make hospital quality more transparent to healthcare consumers nationwide,” said Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of health analysis at U.S. News. “By providing the most comprehensive data available, we hope to give patients the information they need to find the best care across a range of specialties.”
