OnlineLPNtoRN ranked 99 of the country’s leading nursing internship and residency sites. Out of those 99 sites, Sutter Delta’s Nursing Internship Program ranked 17th, according to the OnlineLPtoRN article. The program is unique because it offers one-on-one mentoring by an RN leadership staff that specializes in a specific field of medicine such as emergency, labor and delivery, or surgery.

“We were happy to hear our nursing internship program received this recognition,” says Adriene Clark Wilkerson, director of education, quality and risk. “We took great pains to carefully develop a program that pairs strong mentors with newly graduated RNs. The program is  designed so interns can receive the individual attention needed to be successful.”

About Sutter Delta’s Nursing Internship Program

Sutter Delta launched their Nursing Internship Program in 2010 with only a handful of interns. Today the program has grown, and now accepts 15-20 interns twice a year.

“Surprisingly the application process has also become very competitive,” adds Clark Wilkerson. “We may receive 60-75 applicants for a department that is only going to take three interns that semester. Those who successfully complete our program have been able to find nursing jobs of their choice.”
